I've been doing Family Medicine Rotation for about 1.5 weeks now and am absolutely loving it!
its a 180 from the last rotation (Orthopedic surger). Not that i hate orthopedic surgery -- just that one or two residents were a bit rude and apathetic (just their personality and low self-esteem that channels into their desire to show that they are dominant
) and the attending didn't really take time to teach me anything (he has his own issues). I still left em great reviews.
But anyhow, Family medicine has been great to me so far. I get their at around 9 A.M. (hey, i have to drive 20 miles!) and am usually done by 4:30 p.m. (on some days by 12:30 p.m.). This gives me time to study. My preceptor is really cool too -- very down to earth.
today, he injected his heel with lidocaine and kenalog (1ml of each) for his plantar fascitis. Very simple procedure but it must have hurt like hell... he actually froze the part of his foot where he injected.
